| Our Fishing Report page is a place where we, in the spirit of comradeship, openly report our fishing locations and methods. We hope others will do the same, so that we can all enjoy and get the most from the limited time we have trolling. As we are sure everyone will understand, in the days just before a competition we may limit information.

July 14th. Vänern, Storbanken.
My son and I fished for 5 hours in the afternoon. the first 3 hours delivered 5 pike (planerboard 30-80g) and the last 2 hours was total salmon madness! We landed 3 wild salmon over 70cm, lost 2 salmon within 5 meters from the boat and also managed to put two in the cooler a beautiful fat trout that was 86cm long and weighed 7.9kg and a salmon that was 74cm. Six of the contacts with salmon were on the downrigger 30-45 foot and the other 110g on the planer board. Best todaty was VK-Rax UV baitholders behind gold and silver chrome flashers. OBS! we had 4 rods on the downrigger and 3 of 4 had flashers. These last two hours were the most exciting I have had in Vänern in a couple of years!

July 2nd - 4th. The Finnish Gulf.
Had the great opportunity to fish EM in Helsinki together with Team VK-Salmon. The fishing was not so good and in 3 days a total of 164 boats managed to catch 67 salmon and 10 trout. Our team caught one of the trout that weighed just over 5kg.
I spent as much time as possible studying how our Finnish trolling neighbours think and do things. I can honestly say that we Swedish trollers are still many years behind the Finns when it comes to fishing with löja! This was the most incredible educational experience I have had in fishing and it will seriously change how I think and fish in the future.
Thanks to all the kind and friendly Finnish trollers that I met for the friendliness they showed me and for everything they taught me!

June 23. Vänern, Mariestad
We were fishing pike-perch (gös) for 4 hours. The result was one which came off and one around 45cm which we returned.

June 17. Vänern Kinnekullebanken - Storbanken
We fished for four hours today in wonderful weather. The day's catch was a fantastic trout that weighed 9160g that took a VK-Rax UV112 disco baitholder. We also caught and released a wild salmon around 50cm that took VK-Rax chrome 700 baitholder and 2 pike that took VK-Rax gold 750 & VK-Rax Chrome 721 baitholders. All the fish were taken on the plannerboard with 25-50g.

Sunday June 13th. Vänern, Kinneviken
I fished and won the 3rd leg of FK Trollspöts club championship today. I caught and weighed in 3 salmon, but also caught a wild salmon around 70cm which was of course released again. The biggest fish I caught today was almost 7kg. The winning combination today was the VK-Rax Glow 834 baitholder behind a 20cm VK-Salmon UV 80 flasher. The other baitholders that took fish were the UV104 and the SS02.

We fished and won the Art-tävlingen today. Just goes to show that all fish like VK-baitholders! Best today was Albin's creative moments that gave the result!

Saturday May 22nd. Vänern, Klas
Peter and Albin fished and won the second leg of FK Trollspöts club championship today. They caught and took home 4 salmon and 1 trout. The biggest fish they caught today was also the biggest fish in the competition so far and was a salmon that weighed 9720g and took new VK-Rax 742s colour baitholder behind a UV50s VK-Salmon flasher on the downrigger. This was also a new PB for Peter’s son Albin. They also tried the new UV112 "Disco" baitholder today and it worked great and gave them 2 of the fish. The other baitholders that took fish were the SS07 and the SS01.

2010-05-16.vänern Dalbosjön.
En bra dag på sjön.Dagens resultat blev 2st öringar 74cm & 84cm en vild lax och en gädda. Bäst i dag var VK beteshållare med UV.

May 9th. Vänern, Stavas Knall - Körtunga
Unfortunately nothing to weigh in on the first club competition . Had 2 pike around 4-5kg and a wild salmon somewhere between 65-70cm. Best today was my wife's smörgåstårta for lunch ;-)
